Info: DeSoto is a bit of a fish out of water. One moment he was on his ship sailing into uncharted waters [right through the Bermuda Triangle, actually] and the next moment he was transported 500+ years into the future into a strange and confusing land. He's made some friends in this new land, but in the year 2008 who needs a cartographer or an adventurer? He's struggling to fit in. In his quest to find a job that didn't bore him, DeSoto ended up as an FBI agent [don't ask how ~ he won't tell anyone, not even me].
Relationships: Being in a strange land in a world where everyone he knew died hundreds of years ago puts a bit of a strain on starting new relationships. There's also the part where pretty much no one believes he's actually from the 1400s that makes things difficult. Naturally, no one believes he's with the FBI now either. He has managed to make a few friends, however. Gwen is the most accepting of the group he now lives with. she even asks him to tell stories of voyaging across the ocean, whether she believes them or not. Alex and Kiyoshi aren't really sure what to think of him and don't believe his stories, but are friendly to him anyway. Shizuka doesn't believe a word he says and thinks he's a bit crazy, but she's too polite to tell him that. She thinks that something terrible must have happened to make him tell such unbelievable stories, so she feels bad for him. DeSoto's one close friend is Alex's 13 year old sister, Amelia; despite their 10 year age difference. She often gets on his nerves with her 'say anything' attitude, but he's grateful that at least someone likes him and doesn't think he's insane. Since arriving here in the future, he's begun a relationship with DelightfulFreak's Kin, and they have a daughter named Jade.

Info: Ramsey is an android, who was once human. He was Zoe Spencer's fiance. They grew up together. Went to school together. Ramsey joined the army when he turned 18. Zoe went to college studying law enforcement, eventually joining the FBI. Zoe's father is a robotics scientist working for the government. It was very easy for him to kidnap Ramsey since he was at their house often. He experimented on Ramsey, and turned him into the first human-adroid hybrid ever...at the army's request! He managed to implant Ramsey's brain into a mechanical body that looked almost exactly like his real body. His new android body is stronger and faster, but he still has his memories and intelligence. The army wanted to use him as their secret assassin, but Ramsey wanted to get rid of those that gave the orders to make him into this...inhuman thing.... His actions in doing so are what put him on the FBI's radar; his case landing on DeSoto's desk. Zoe thought Ramsey simply disappeared, until she accidentally came across her father's notes in his lab one day. The notes detailed the experiments on Ramsey and what had become of him.
